Pulham Market is a village and civil parish in Norfolk, situated approximately 8 miles northeast of Diss and 14 miles south of Norwich. It is regarded as one of the prettiest villages in south Norfolk, Pulham Market has a picturesque green surrounded by thatched cottages, a medieval church and a centuries-old alehouse; the quintessential English village.
But while local residents are proud of this rich heritage, the village is far from a quaint and sleepy corner of rural Norfolk.
Modern-day Pulham Market is a thriving and active community with a rich seam of clubs and organisations, its own primary school and pre-school, a busy surgery, two churches, Post Office and general stores, two pubs, and farming, commercial and artisan activities.
Nearest train stations are Diss 5.9 miles and Spooner Row 9.3 miles. Norwich itself has many places to visit including Norwich Cathedral, and its 900 year old Castle, built by the Normans as a Royal Palace. Chapelfield Shopping Centre is popular as is the more quaint cobbled area of Elm Hill.
There are many lovely restaurants and bars to stop at as well.
Diss is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. With its famous Mere, set within lush green parkland, fine examples of Georgian architecture, the stunning Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin overlooking the town centre and independent boutiques tucked away in hidden yards.
